A Little Bit About Us

What began as a hobby 28 years ago, became a full time family business. We have kept it small enough to still have that ‘hobby enjoyment’.

From the beginning we wanted to be involved in our beekeeping in every stage of husbandry and production right through to selling directly to the public.

We value the loyalty of our customers in Wanganui City and beyond. Some have been coming to our home-based honey shop for nearly 20 years.

Where else can you go for a pot of honey and talk to the beekeeper about the fascinating world of bees?

What makes our honey so special?

The Wanganui countryside from coastal lowlands to steep inland hill country is so varied in contour, climate and cover. Its diversity gives us a variety of honey colours and flavours. For example, our clover honey comes from the fertile river valleys as they reach to the coast. The darker more richly flavoured manuka honey comes from steep hill country that is a backdrop to the Wanganui River.
